Our 8-week programme designed to help you create a pathway into a career with Health NZ Te Whatu Ora. 8:30am to 3pm, Monday to Friday — admin type roles 6:45am to 3:15pm, Monday to Thursday — healthcare assistant and clinical roles. Different hours and shifts will be discussed and required as you progress through the programme.

During that time some of the things you will receive are: wages paid at union rates. a full 3-day induction to welcome you as a temporary staff member. hands on experience working within your departmental team. daily catch ups with your programme peer support buddy for the first few weeks of your training Aspire education group training every Monday morning. a 2-day education workshop at the midpoint of the programme an opportunity for a new start and to develop highly desirable skills. an opportunity to learn about health industry roles at the hospital and out in the community. long term or permanent job opportunities at Health NZ and community partners to help work towards a healthier Hawke's Bay community. be on a main MSD benefit. Do you have any convictions (old or recent), or are there any pending charges or investigations against you that we should be aware of? be able to pass a drug test. have an updated C.V. Cover letter preferred however not a requirment. be available to work anytime including weekends and morning, afternoon, or night shift for roles with rostered hours. have reliable transport to get to and from work. have at least your restricted licence, but ideally your full licence, for roles that may require driving. be prepared to work full time at the end of the programme — 30 to 40 hours per week.
