Vineyard Team Supervisor - Te Tii

A world class Winery on a peninsula on the northern side of stunning Bay of Islands have an opportunity to join the team and are hiring an experienced Vineyard Team Supervisor. In this role you will be supervising, training and working with seasonal staff on all vineyard operations including pruning, shoot thinning, plucking, wire lifting, netting etc. You will be supervising new vineyard development – planting, trellis work, training etc. Performing vineyard maintenance – clips, wires, posts etc.

You will need to be familiar with common vineyard pests and diseases, and be able to identify and monitor Tractor operation e.g. spraying, mowing, trimming etc. Training will be provided, including all relevant courses such as First Aid, Forklift, Growsafe, Manual handling etc. if required.

In the winery the role will require: Vintage processing - receival, sorting, destemming, pressing, cleaning as well as plant and equipment maintenance, and overall maintenance of the facility to a high standard.

The ideal applicant will have: -Viticulture/Horticulture experience -Agricultural machinery experience -be Fit and enthusiastic with problem-solving skills, and attention to detail. -Supervisor skills, ability to keep a crew working efficiently -Ability to work extra hours throughout the season as required.

1- Have 2 + years of Viticulture/Horticulture experience as detailed above. 2- Have that experience noted on your up to date CV. 3- Have own reliable transport to get to site ( 25min drive from Waipapa). 4- Have at least Restricted Driver licence. 5- Be fit and healthy for the tasks described. 6- Must be drug-free in order to pass random testing. 7- Any criminal convictions are to be disclosed and will be considered case-by-case as there will be a pre-employment Police check.
