Truck Driver

We are looking for 3 persons who are committed to leading safety, health and wellness, with the skills and experience given below. We require two drivers on set run between Auckland and Wellington ferry terminal swap. One driver is required on Auckland-Wellington set run via New Plymouth. The drivers will be required to spend night away from home on alternative day.

You will carryout daily vehicle inspections encompassing mechanical, safety and emergency equipment. You will also no be limited to the following duties: - Ensure Road User Charges RUC, Registration and COF are up to date. - Complete logbook accurately and in a timely manner. - Ensure truck is loaded and unloaded appropriately and materials recorded correctly - Ensure all loads are secured appropriately. - Ensure all loads comply with height, weight and width specifications. - Travel within speed limits at all times having consideration for road conditions, other road users, weather, cargo, signage, and the environment. - Drive in a courteous manner at all times. - Report any traffic infringements immediately to supervisor or manager. - Ensure any required PPE is used at all times as required. - Ensure all incidents and accidents are reported as to the appropriate person with the required timeframe.

Current and valid class 5 or overseas equivalent driving licence with a minimum 2 year of line haul experience, driving skills will be tested by driver trainers. Flexibility between a variety of tasks and routes High standard of personal presentation Excellent communication & customer service skills. Applicant must be able to communicate to speak fluent English, applicant needs to be able to communicate effectively with the customers and dispatchers, this will be tested during the interview process. Positive attitude Physically fit. Sound understanding of logbooks and other regulations. Ability to stay calm under pressure. Ability to pass Alcohol and drug tests and clear MOJ. Clean driving record.
