Kiwifruit Picker - Brightwater

A local Kiwifruit and Pipfruit Orchard in Brightwater, is looking for some energetic, flexible staff to assist their friendly team with their Kiwifruit Harvest. Experience working in a related industry is desirable but not necessary as training will be given. You need to be able to work outdoors from 7.30am to 4.00pm which are standard hours but this will depend on daily requirements. This role needs some flexibility in working days also as unfortunately when it rains they can't pick kiwifruit. They need to be dry! Therefore if it rains during the week and we are behind with harvest we need to catch up by working weekends so the ability to also work in the weekends if required is necessary. Ideally you will be neither too tall nor too short as it involves working under a canopy. Between 156 – 185cm is ideal for this particular work.

We expect the harvest to run until around the beginning of May.

The ideal candidate will: • Height between 156-185cm • Flexibility – depending on harvest requirements, rain, etc must be able to work weekends if required and sometimes stop if fruit not ready to go. • Own transport • Have a great attitude and ability to show initiative • Be willing to learn and upskill • Be a team player • have own transport essential - remote location (no public transport) • have a reasonable level of physical fitness • love working outside • random drug testing may be a requirement • previous criminal convictions considered on a case by case basis
