Local Bus company is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Operations Manager to join their Whangarei depot team. As an Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and ensuring the smooth operation of daily services. You’ll manage all aspects of the depot’s day-to-day operations, ensuring that vehicles, drivers, and schedules are managed effectively and efficiently. The Operations Manager is a leadership role that is central to their operations, ensuring that the company continues to deliver top-notch service to our customers.

What We’re Looking For:

- Proven experience in a management or operations role, ideally in the transport or bus industry. - Strong leadership skills with a focus on team development and performance management. - Ability to work under pressure, solve problems, and make decisions quickly. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the business. - A proactive approach to operational efficiency and safety. - Ability to multi task. - A Class 2 driver’s license with a P endorsement is preferred. - Previous experience with scheduling and managing a large fleet is an advantage.

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee day-to-day depot operations, including vehicle allocation, driver management, and scheduling. - Manage the performance of staff, ensuring they adhere to company standards and safety regulations. - Resolve operational issues quickly and effectively to maintain service continuity. - Maintain a high level of safety and compliance with all regulations and company policies. - Coordinate with other departments to ensure a seamless operation. - Lead and support the depot team, providing guidance and mentorship to drivers and staff. - Report directly to the Depot Manager on operational matters and performance metrics.

Days of work
Monday to Friday with the odd Saturday. (45 hours per week)
