A St Arnaud Ski Field is looking for a Cafe Manager for this season. Join the vibrant team, where you will be provided with an unforgettable experience for winter sports enthusiasts! The on-mountain cafe is a bustling hub for skiers and snowboarders looking to warm up, refuel, and enjoy stunning alpine views. We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Cafe Manager to lead the team during the snow season. As the Cafe Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining a high standard of food and beverage quality. This role requires leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The position is seasonal and dependent on snow conditions, typically running from late June to late August. As the ski field is located in a remote location, it would be advantageous if you lived nearby or are prepared for the 1 hour plus commute to St Arnaud. The staff can be collected from the village and there may be an opportunity to discuss accommodation options in the village with the employer.
Job Requirements
Key Responsibilities: - Manage cafe operations, including staffing, stock control, and customer service. - Lead, train, and motivate a team of baristas, servers, and kitchen staff. - Training of staff for liquor licensing and host responsibility requirements - Ensure a welcoming and efficient service experience for all guests. - Monitor inventory and place orders to maintain stock levels. - Uphold health, safety, and hygiene standards in line with regulations. Cleaning - Handle cash flow, sales reporting, and basic financial administration. - Collaborate with ski field management and committee to align cafe offerings with guest expectations.
Requirements: - Proven experience in a cafe or hospitality management role. - Barista skills and knowledge of food preparation (Food and hygiene standards as well as health and safety knowledge) - Strong leadership, communication, and organisational abilities. - Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. - Passion for winter sports and the alpine environment is a plus!
