Barista / Front of House / Okere Falls

Based in beautiful Okere Falls, 20 km out of Rotorua. Our focus is on our customers and ensuring they have the best experience and providing the highest quality of food and beverage experience. The Store is popular with the locals and many tourists, opening 7 days from 7am. We have our own unique style and offerings but the common theme is excellence in food focusing on food preparation from raw ingredients to the finished product. Reporting to the Cafe Manager, we are recruiting now for a Barista / Front of House Service to join our team to work between the Okere Falls Store and Mr Wolf Eatery in Rotorua. You will work with our experienced cafe team who are experts in what they do and strive to deliver the highest standard of food and beverage experience.

This is a full time role working more than 30 hours per week (up to 50 hours in summer) with a mix of morning, afternoons and nights. The Okere Falls Store is open from 7am - 7 days a week offering breakfast, lunch and dinner on some evenings.

Responsibilities: Sales Support -To have excellent customer service skills and build your knowledgeable about the OFS business. -To have a strong interest in food and beverage plus an understanding of where products come from along with their application. -To undertake the preparation and presentation of food items for sale at times. Cash Handling -To responsibly handle cash, and use the Point of Sale system (till) as directed. Store Presentation -To undertake re-stocking of The Store as directed or as needed -To undertake duties as directed to maintain a clean and presentable store at all times

To be successful you will -Have an interest in food and beverage products, great food and beverage presentation and an attitude of care and attention to detail -Be aware of hygiene requirements of a busy cafe and ensure the work areas are kept clean and tidy -Have the desire and ability to build positive relationships with customers -Have the ability to ensure the customer has an excellent cafe experience -Be well presented and have good communication skills. -Want to be part of a growing business and have a high level of self-motivation -When working as Barista be able to make quality coffees at a high rate. When not making coffee support the Barista to perform their tasks.

You will be paid at least $28 per hour with room from growth in the future. We pride ourselves on being a positive and fun team. All food, coffee and other and drinks are provided while at work. -As we are a small team we are searching for an applicant who is in a position to commit long term to working with us -Proven experience in a similar role in Rotorua (Preferred 3-5 years) -Current valid drivers licence and reliable car as there is no public transport to our site -Be an experienced, hands-on Barista who has a passion for food and beverage service able to make beautiful coffee. -Contribute to and enhance our positive work environment -Adhere to our Health and Safety policies and standards -No criminal convictions and ability of obtain a Managers Licence without issue (Current DM licensed candidates preferred)
