Casual Lifeguard - Waiouru Military Camp

Are you a confident swimmer with a passion for safety and helping others? Casual Lifeguard vacancies available at the NZDF Waiouru Pool. This role offers flexibility, making it ideal for someone who is available to work a range of shifts, including weekdays and weekends, as required.

About the Role As a Casual Lifeguard, you’ll play a key role in ensuring a safe, clean, and enjoyable experience for all pool users at NZDF Waiouru. Your responsibilities will include:

• Monitoring swimming areas to ensure safety and compliance with pool rules • Assessing and minimising risks of injury or incidents • Assisting swimmers when needed • Maintaining water quality and pool cleanliness • Conducting identity checks for pool users • Reporting maintenance issues and hazards • Enforcing Health & Safety policies for both staff and pool users • Providing excellent customer service and welcoming visitors

We will support you to obtain your Pool Lifeguard Practicing Certificate and First Aid qualification. Previous lifeguard experience is a plus, but if you have strong communication skills, a positive attitude and you’re a strong swimmer looking to upskill, apply today!
