About this job
Pongakawa based employer needs someone who can, prepare plant for operation: Ensure machinery is set up and positioned for operation. Operating tractor-drawn and self-propelled plant: Use machinery to plough land, sow seeds, fertilise, cultivate, and harvest crops, while being mindful of not damaging crops. Adjusting speed, height, and depth of implements: Fine-tune equipment settings. Operating plant for forestry tasks: Handle machinery to lift, cut, and manage trees, ensuring safe operations. Operating attachments: Utilize attachments for lifting, swinging, releasing, sorting trees and logs. Operate auxiliary plant equipment such as chipping and log splitting machines. Feeding trees into processors: Feed felled trees into processors for limb stripping and cutting into logs. Manage logs for loading onto stockpiles and trucks. Log tallies and reporting: Keep log tallies and document daily work progress. Servicing and minor repairs: Perform basic servicing and maintenance tasks on plant equipment, including minor repairs. Random drug testing applies.

Job Requirements
Must be physically fit and willing to learn. Able to pass pre-employment drug test and have no criminal record. Full class5 driver licence and at least 1 years experience operating tractors and/ or forestry machinery and / or auxiliary plant equipment. Mechanical aptitude for servicing and minor repairs. Attention to detail with an ability to follow safety protocols. Able to work in outdoor conditions. Good communication skills for reporting and teamwork
