Steel Storeperson/Workshop Assistant

Do you have previous work experience in the steel fabricating industry? We have the opportunity to source a person in a varied role being the lead storeman with cutting & general workshop duties as required while serving a number of customer requirements. It requires selection of steel materials and cutting to specific measurements for orders. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to get into the industry and run a small engineering supply shop. • Presentable to customers in a workshop/sales role • Accuracy with marking and cutting of stock steel • Able to use engineering machinery including saws, grinders hoists etc. • Preferable to have a forklift licence • Computer literate to input sales and order new stock, send emails • Keen to learn new skills and knowledge of products • Physically fit with Positive attitude and sense of humour.

1. Steel store managing stock levels. 2. Cutting of steel to length as per customer requirements 3. Storeman duties 4. Customer sales and sales orders 5. Recording of all sales transactions through the internal computer system 6. Email orders to supplier, answer calls from customers on the phone. 7. Call customers to collect orders / call suppliers to procure materials 8. Operation of a forklift (training can be provided) 9. Maintenance of the cutting equipment 10. Undertaking work in a safe manner meeting all H&S requirements
