Farm Assistant

JOB DESCRIPTION: MILKING: Manages milk harvesting to optimize quality, efficiency and yield monitoring milk dockets to help troubleshoot issues. ANIMALS: Implements and monitors the animal health plan, records and reports on this. Diagnose and treat all animal health issues and demonstrate best practices in the areas of animal handling, health and welfare. Supports and trains junior staff in their development. FEED: Monitors pasture covers, feed intake and cow condition, and discusses appropriate management with senior staff. PEOPLE: works well with others, building a strong team culture. Mentors junior staff. MACHINERY, VEHICLES AND TECHNOLOGY: safety uses and maintains vehicles on farm, as directed by on farm policy. HEALTH, SAFETY, AND WELLBEING: involvement in building a health, safety and well-being culture and helps train and model this to junior staff

PLEASE NOTE as part of our company health and safety policy we do undertake routine drug testing, a full clean driver's license is essential. Strictly NO PETS, no smoking is permitted on the farm or in accommodation and you must clean criminal records. ACCOMODATION: Shared accommodation in outside room with contract milker. Shared facilities are shared with family. REMUNERATION: hourly rate $26.00 minimum work hour per week 30 hours - maximum 45 hours per week
