Dairy Cattle Farm Assistant

Milking (Herringbone shed) assistance in efficient and hygienic milking routine following procedures to produce high quality milk, assist with cleaning and maintain the milking plant and farm dairy equipment and report any faults to senior staff, assist in the safe handling of animals (Friesian Cross), reporting any health and welfare issues as per farm policy, set break fences and feed out as directed, assist with nutrient, effluent and water management as directed by farm policy, weed control; spot spraying in the paddock with knapsack, work well with others building a strong team culture, safely use and maintain vehicles on farm as directed by on farm policy and be involved in building a health, safety and wellbeing culture modelling farms health, safety and wellbeing policy.
Job Requirements
You will work well with others, be able to live on site (farm is approximately 15 kms from Eketahuna or 25km from Pahiatua) and have your own transport. Pre-employment and random drug testing applies and employer operates a smoke free work environment. Shared accommodation with 1 other worker is provided on site, you are required to pay shared costs.
