Timber Machinist

A Te Kuiti based sawmill is looking for a timber machinist, you will ideally have a minimum of 12 months work experience as a timber/wood machinist or machine operator within a sawmill.

Tasks required for this role are as follows: - Operate woodworking machinery to cut and plane timber. - Ensure timber accurately meets required specifications. - Assist with bin sorting to categorise and organise wood materials. - Conducts machine maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure smooth production flow. - Follow strict safety procedures while working in a fast-paced environment. - Perform manual handling and physical tasks as required.

To be suitable for this role, you will ideally have the following experience: - A minimum of 12 months of work experience as a timber/wood machinist/machine operator in a sawmill OR a minimum of 12 months of experience in bin sorting. - Be resilient, with a self-motivated attitude and a strong can-do mindset. - Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual handling tasks. - Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. - A proven track record of excellent punctuality and attendance. - Strong ability to work well in a team.

While we prefer someone with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience, we are happy to consider candidates with a minimum of 3 months of work experience as a Timber / Wood Machinist / Machine Operator in a sawmill OR have a minimum of 3 months of experience in Bin Sorting
