HVAC Technician

As the HVAC Technician, your responsibilities will include:

Core objectives include: • Laying out Air conditioning & Refrigeration installation positions • Drilling, cutting and installing mounting brackets, and shaping pipes • Installing and repairing components such including: o Compressors o Motors o Condensors o Evaporators o Switches LP & HP o Gauges o Running cooper pipes • Using skills such as bolting, soldering, riveting, welding and brazing pipes • Checking and monitoring accuracy, perform necessary adjustments and monitor leaks • Use vacuum to remove test gas and fluid then fill with refrigerant • Checking and refurbish refrigeration systems, diagnosing faults, repairing, and replacing faulty mechanisms • Adjusting system controls and mechanisms and reconstruct systems • Keep a recording of all faults • Keep record of actions taken • Carry out installation off Air conditioning & refrigeration units according to New Zealand and Australia standards. • Fault-finding on-Air conditioning and Refrigeration units. • Carry out repairs on Air Conditioning and Refrigeration units. • Diagnose faults such gas leaks in Air conditioning and refrigeration systems and carry out repairs. • Be able to diagnose all refrigeration faults and carry out repairs. • Carry out general maintenance work and can find re-active work. • Repair refrigerant leaks in small- and large-scale air conditioning and refrigeration system • Effectively pressurise Systems

You will ideally have a HVAC qualification with a minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role in commercial or residential properties. You work well under pressure and enjoy working in a team environment. Your ability to work unsupervised and ability to manage your time and work-flow will determine your success in this role.
