This is a great opportunity to work closely with Pacific communities and community service providers to support the elderly community. This organisation is based in Otahuhu that have been advocating for the rights and wellbeing of older people in the Pacific community for over 20 years. Working intensively with families to strengthen bonds and promote wellbeing of individuals with a Strengths Based approach.

They are seeking a passionate and reliable Community Health Worker to join their team. You will play a vital role in supporting elderly Pasifika seniors through direct care, health education, and advocacy. You will work closely with the team to create a welcoming and supportive environment.

Key duties: -Provide health assessments and support for elderly clients. -Serve as liaison between seniors, families, healthcare providers, and community resources. -Assist with navigating healthcare systems, including scheduling appointments and understanding medical plans. -Offer emotional and social support to enhance quality of life for Pasifika seniors. -Coordinate culturally relevant events and programs to engage with Pasifika elderly community. -Promote health lifestyles and encourage preventative care.

Job Requirements

Experience working with Pasifika elderly community or strong understanding of values and culture. Fluency in Pacific Islands languages preferred but not required. Health qualification or relevant qualification also preferred. Must also be able to pass pre employment checks such as MOJ and drug test if required.
