Orchardist

We are a locally owned orchard that grows, packs and sells our own fruit through both wholesale and retail outlets. There is a broad base of items that are grown with the main ones being stone fruit and pip fruit. There are several different orchard sites that are owned and managed by Jemel Orchards throughout Hawke’s Bay, with headquarters being in Bay View. The job will include: • General orchard work • Picking • Thinning • Seasonal harvest of market gardens • Light lifting • Digging • Planting • Weeding

This job is a permanent full time position with a minimum of 30 hours, includes weekend work and requires flexibility. We are looking for workers who are physically fit, team players, motivated and can cope under pressure when there are deadlines to meet. This is a great job for someone with a passion for horticulture who likes to be outside in the sun working on the land. Due to the nature of the job there will be many occasions to learn about the production of fruit from the planting stage to harvest.
