A local manufacturer of concrete water troughs for sheep and cattle in Marton. Employer supplies a small range of troughs to wholesalers and direct to farms throughout the lower north island. We are a small team made up of the owner and one other that currently does all the trough manufacturing and an office person.
Looking to employ a strong, fit individual to add to our manufacturing team. Health and safety is a key component of this job, as we move troughs weighing up to 1.25 ton each. Good common sense, a strong work ethic, and the ability to front foot work will be essential in this role.
The Job itself predominantly consists of preparing moulds for a concrete pour, the pour itself, removal of the trough from the moulds, and cementing in the towers. Additionally, there will be a be a requirement to accompany a driver on deliveries so may require loading and unloading of the truck. We would support costs with achieving an HT licence, and will train in using the truck HIAB. This is a permanent part-time role consisting of a guaranteed 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday beginning at 8.00 a.m. with flexible finish time.
There will be a trial period of three months. Sick leave and annual leave are in accordance with the current Employment Relations Act. There are always two weeks Holiday at Christmas and possibly the requirement to take two in AUG/SEP when business tempo is low due to calving. From time to time there may be a requirement to do other work at the discretion of the owner. This may include grounds care, gardening, or general maintenance.
