We have a Levin employer that is looking for a dedicated person to join their Greyhound Rehoming Programme in Levin. They are dedicated to providing high quality care and training to find each and every greyhound a loving home when they retire from racing. This is an amazing opportunity for anyone who has a passion for animals in a stunning setting among the hills and farms to enrich the lives of these amazing dogs. Duties include: Walking (up to 10km a day), playing and exercising dogs, cleaning kennels to a high standard, feeding dogs, provide ongoing enrichment, medicating dogs as required, playing with our small dogs, caring for our cats, grooming/brushing the animals, training sessions (basic commands, manners, lead walking, socialisation), basic first aid when needed.

Job Requirements

Ideally you will have plenty of experience working with and caring for dogs as well as knowledge in basic training, canine health and behaviour. You will need to enjoy being in the great outdoors in all weather conditions and be physically fit to accommodate the physical demands of this role. You will also have the desire to continually learn and upskill in canine training, health, behaviour and wellbeing. You need to be able to get to Manakau
