Kaiawhina

A Piopio based Kohanga reo is looking for a new Kaiawhina to work in their kitchen and preform cleaning duties. The role is working Monday to Friday 4 hours per day between 9.30am – 1.30pm. The successful applicant will have the following qualities: • Have food and nutrition training (This is a bonus however can be attained during professional development) • Be willing to upskill knowledge of Te Reo me ona Tikanga Maori. • Must agree to hold a current First Aid Certificate • Be a team player. • Must enjoy working with mokopuna. • On time, flexible and reliable • Be able to pass mandatory pre-employment Police vetting check. • Must have own reliable transport. Your responsibilities include: • Working with Kaiako Matua to create weekly menus that reflect all requirements. • Prepare morning tea, lunch and serving meals to tamariki at the appropriate temperature. • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including all food storage areas. • Tend to a cleaning roster (daily & weekly) of the building, includes toilets, vacuuming & mopping etc. This will be set out to fit within the day-to-day operations. • Cover other kaimahi breaks.
