Seasonal General Orchard Workers

A Kerikeri, Waipapa and Waimate North based employer is currently seeking Seasonal General Orchard Workers to join their team on a seasonal fix term contract.

The successful candidates will be starting early March and ending in April

Must be available to work between the hours of Monday to Sunday 8am to 6.00pm weather dependant

Duties include:

Picking Kiwifruit

Thinning: Removing excess buds, flowers and fruit from the vines to adjust the crop load and take pressure off the vines.

There’s no heavy lifting or anything particularly strenuous involved, but you do need to be able to work on your feet all day and reach up to the vines.

Physically fit and able to work on your feet, comfortable working with arms overhead for extended periods Reliable, punctual and able to work in a team environment. Able to pass a pre-employment drug test and on-going random tests Able to pass a pre-employment police check, previous minor convictions may be considered on a case-by-case basis Able to learn and follow instructions to ensure you are removing the right flowers/buds Hold a restricted or full Class 1 driver licence with own reliable transport as some travel between orchards will be required and no transport is provided by employer to and from work Functional mobile phone as all applications are online and so employer can let you know when there is work available.
