HIPPY (Home Interaction Programme for Parents and Youngsters) is a home-based early education programme that empowers parents to support their 2–5-year-old children in life-long learning by fostering parents’ skills and confidence as educators, both face to face and online. This FREE home-based programme essentially helps parents to get their 2-5-year-old* children ready for success in education.
Your duties will will include: Training and Development: • Attend initial and weekly training and professional development sessions with coordinator • Attend weekly Delivery Update meetings with the coordinator to discuss the work of each family/whanau • Assist at Group Meetings every month and encourage parents to attend Home Visits: Also you will • Make weekly home visits to deliver provided workbooks and programme support to whanau on the programme • Arrange meeting timetables for Home visits and keep the Coordinator informed of any changes Reports and Records: • Collect weekly reports • Maintain a hard copy file of completed work for each child • Keep accurate accountability records, including online timesheets and the Work Delivery Forms Curriculum: • Prepare weekly materials and equipment to be used during weekly tutor training and home visits • Review completed workbooks.
You will have your own vehicle for visiting and mileage is paid according to IRD rate A. The ideal applicant will be / have been a parent OR have formal experience in ECE. You will have a passion for working with families with young children, maturity and understanding of your environment, be able to identify with the local population and have a commitment to working in the Community. You will be a good communicator, have reasonably good reading and writing abilities and of course be comfortable visiting homes in the community. This is a fixed term role- work is available from now till August 2025. Work is during school-terms only, but may be 'annualised'. If this is you, then call us to apply now !

Job Requirements
1- Have at least a Restricted driver licence and your own reliable vehicle and Insured vehicle. 2- CV must have at least 2 recent and contactable references listed. 3- Police Vetting will be carried out - MOJ
