Customer Service, Retail Assistant
About this job
Assist customers with retail transactions, library inquiries, and locating materials. Process book loans, returns, membership sign-ups, and account resolutions. Provide information about library services, programmes, and upcoming events. Support the planning, promotion, and execution of library programmes, including story times, workshops, and author visits. Assist customers with library technology, including computers, printers, and copiers. Perform routine administrative tasks such as data entry, maintaining customer records, and preparing reports.
Job Requirements
Qualifications – NCEA Level 3 or equivalent passes in English, Mathematics, and Computing. Tech-Savviness – Strong computer literacy and familiarity with library catalogue systems. Customer Engagement – The ability to handle diverse inquiries independently, with a focus on supporting digitally shy customers. Community Focus – A passion for reading, learning, and serving the community. Attention to Detail – Ability to maintain organisation and ensure smooth library operations. Driver’s Licence – A current Full New Zealand Driver’s Licence is required.

- Monday to Sunday on a five-week rotating schedule (one weekend in five) (40 hours per week)
