Volunteering Northland is seeking a motivated Manager to lead our dynamic team, dedicated to connecting skilled volunteers with community organisations across Te Tai Tokerau Northland. In this role, you’ll oversee the management, strategy, and operations of Volunteering Northland, ensuring we operate efficiently and sustainably.
As the Manager, you will take responsibility for:
Strategic Planning: Lead and implement strategies to ensure Volunteering Northland remains unique, viable, and compliant with legal standards. Report progress to the Board and keep the organisation aligned with its mission.
Financial Management: Oversee budgets, financial reports, and funding applications, ensuring financial sustainability and alignment with our goals.
Staff and Operations: Manage recruitment, staff training, and foster a supportive work environment where staff are equipped with the tools and resources to succeed.
Communication & Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, funders, and the community. Promote Volunteering Northland’s mission through effective marketing and communications.
Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety systems and maintain legal standards.

Job Requirements
About You:
To excel in this role, you will have:
A strong passion for and in-depth knowledge of the volunteer and non-profit sectors, demonstrated through a solid track record as part of a non-profit organisation. A commitment to cultural diversity, with respect for and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its principles. At least 2 years of leadership or management experience Experience in community development. Must be able to pass MOJ and no exceptions. Passion for community and social impact Strategic thinking skills with preferably some experience working with a non-profit board (in any position) Experience in securing funding in a charity environment and adequately reporting on funds received. Experience in designing and managing budgets and ideally experience in reporting on KPIs to the Board Must have Class 1 Restricted or Full with own transport to drive around the regions. Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities. The ability to identify opportunities and guide teams through periods of growth.
