Salmon Farm Cafe Allrounder

A business in Takaka is looking for a Cafe Allrounder to join their team. You will be leading the salmon cafe to provide optimal customer service, quality food and barista services. You will focus on creating an environment where management, staff and visitors feel welcome, respected and inspired.

The cafe allrounder is responsible for carrying out all cafe duties such as: preparing and plating up menu dishes according to the NZ food & safety standards, filleting, smoking and slicing sashimi style salmon, preparing professional hot and cold drinks, taking orders and cash & eftpos payments, but also clearing tables and taking care of the dishes.

You need to have experience working in a high-paced cafe environment. You need to have experience in making and serving high quality barista beverages and knowledge of filleting fish and basic knife skills.

We’re offering alcohol in a responsible way and therefore you require a Duty manager’s certificate.

You’ll need basic knowledge of first aid and apply under pressure.

In the Winter months you’ll be operating the cafe solely on your own but in the Summer and shoulder season you’ll be managing up to 7 staff during each day. You’ll need at least 3 years’ experience in managing a customer service team.
