Commercial Cleaner

Local employer is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Commercial Cleaner. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring a hygienic and safe environment for both patients and staff at a private hospital and a dementia unit.

Job Purpose: The Commercial Cleaner is an unlicensed support staff member who assists clinical staff by ensuring that the environment remains clean, hygienic, and conducive to health and safety.

Daily Expectations: Bedrooms:

Clean and disinfect surfaces, including door handles (both sides), light switches, call bell box, hand sanitizer dispensers, handrails, and tabletops. Dust blinds, windowsills, and lock ledges. Dust cabinets, door panels, and baseboards. Clean and disinfect the hand basin and tap water handles. Refill paper towels, hand sanitizers, and soap dispensers, as required. Vacuum (if carpet) or mop floors.

Bathrooms and Showers:

Clean and disinfect surfaces such as door handles (both sides), light switches, hand sanitizer and soap dispensers, handrails, and shower knobs. Dust blinds, windowsills, and lock ledges (dry wipe). Clean and disinfect toilet covers, water cisterns, and brush toilet bowls. Vacuum and damp mop floors.

Sluice:

Disinfect and wipe the sink, including the rim. Mop the floor underneath the sink. Refill chemical bottles.

Prerequisites: - No previous criminal convictions and must be drug-free. - Ability to use common sense in daily tasks. - Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high hygiene standards. - Ability to work independently and follow specific cleaning procedures. - The successful candidate will be working across multiple sites, including a private hospital and a dementia unit, and will be expected to maintain the highest levels of cleanliness and hygiene at all times.
