Tow Truck Operator / Road Service Technician

A Kapiti Coast Towing Business is rapidly growing and exciting things are planned for 2025, so we are looking for another full-time staff member to join our team of amazing employees.

We are looking for a hardworking motivated individual to join our business. Someone that can think on their feet, work well under pressure, be well presented, and can deliver excellent customer service.

We currently operate a diverse fleet of six trucks and three patrol Ute’s out of our two depots’ based in Paraparaumu and Otaki.

Our operation is 24/7 so night work and weekends will be required. (On a roster basis, so you must be flexible)

The new position is a mixed role comprising a diverse range of work. Tow truck Operator / Road service Technician as the primary tasking, as well as fitting tyres, batteries and general duties.

We contract to all the major road service companies – NZAA, AMI Roadside Rescue, NZRA, Tesla, Marshall Batteries, NZ Police, and all insurance companies.

Given what we do, no two days are ever the same.

Our company works closely with Cox Heavy Salvage, so opportunities arise from time to time to work in heavy towing and salvage and to the right candidate, a pathway into operating a modern heavy wrecker is open.

• A minimum of full Class 2 licence • Current V Endorsement would be an advantage, otherwise the ability to obtain a V endorsement (Vehicle Recovery) is a requirement for employment • A clean driver’s licence and ability to pass NZ Police background checks (clean criminal history) • Sober habit and Drug free, Drug and Alcohol testing will be required prior to starting and on random basis going forward. • A basic level of Mechanical and auto electrical knowledge • A basic understanding of modern vehicle systems • Be a team player, physically fit and willing to get stuck in. • Must live in the wider Kapiti Coast area. Specifically, Raumati / Paraparaumu / Waikanae. • Be punctual and reliable, practical thinker that can cope well under pressure and in unexpected situations • Applicants for this position must have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa. • An up to date CV and covering letter are required
