Long Haul - Truck Drivers - Class 5

Auckland employer is looking for an experienced Long-Haul class 5 driver. The candidate must be able to reverse navigate and manoeuvre heavy vehicles safely and accurately Follow all appropriate traffic laws Able to diagnose and troubleshoot minor issues such as punctured tyres Comply with driving rules and regulations (size weight route designations and parking) as well as with company policies and procedures Document and log work/rest periods and kilometres spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts Have a working knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety and logbook requirements Input macros into our automated system for each stage of the loading and unloading process. • Heavy Vehicle/Truck Licence (Class 5 in New Zealand or similar if you are offshore). • At least 1 year of experience in driving heavy trucks and dangerous goods (limited quantity) and in operating manual gearbox. • Have a working knowledge and understanding of the Health and Safety and Logbook requirements. • Flexible start time – as a long haul truck driver, you can be rostered to start your shifts at any time within a 24 hour period. The shifts can start early morning or they can be overnight. Availability to drive on weekends and public holidays is a must. Legal driving hours will be as per the regulation. • Be able to work in conditions that may be stressful including poor weather and heavy traffic. • Be physically fit and healthy – able to lift heavy objects while loading and unloading in a safe manner. • Must be able to pass pre-employment police health and drug testing.
