Support Worker-Taranaki

** Permanent, full time roles - 65+ hours per fortnight ** Rostered shifts - flexibility for day, evening, sleepover and weekend shifts needed ** Earn while you learn, gain nationally recognised qualifications!

A Nationwide employer is looking for experienced Support Workers, with a positive attitude and a people focused approach to join their team! You will be supporting adults with intellectual disabilities to live in their own home and enjoy life as part of their communities.

Mo te tunga - About the role As a Support Worker you will be supporting people with intellectual disabilities to enjoy life at home and as part of their community. Daily activities you will help people with are: • Attend different activities in the community and go on outings. • Grow their independence and learn skills for daily living like using public transport or cooking a meal • Manage their daily routines - shower, get dressed, take medication or eat a meal • Pursue their goals, interests, and hobbies • Stay healthy and making positive choices about their lifestyle • Have strong connections with their whanau and community

Nga pumanawatanga ou - What you will bring • Empathy, respect, and a genuine passion for supporting individuals with disabilities • Experience supporting people with challenging behaviours • Confidence working with complex support needs • Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and sleepover shifts • Comfortable and proficient in using computers and tablets daily • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Physical fitness to provide necessary physical support • Possession of a Full NZ driver's license or willingness to work towards obtaining one

Nou te rourou - What's in it for you? • $23.84 - $29.10 per hour depending on relevant qualifications, with the ability to earn more as you gain qualifications • Employer will support you towards completion of the Level 2, 3 and 4 Certificates in Health and Wellbeing
