Orchard Hand

Exciting permanent, full time opportunity to be part of an established large scale orchard operation located in the Hawkes Bay region with orchards located in Meeanee, Twyford and Havelock North. We are seeking individuals that want to join our team and support our orchard operations. This is a diverse role that offers the opportunity to kick start your career within pipfruit under the guidance of an experienced Operational Team that provide excellent opportunities for your personal development and advancement.

Key Responsibilities: • Undertake harvest operations in accordance with quality productivity standard whilst ensuring minimal crop damage; • Prune and thin trees to as required to optimise growth and fruit production; • Throughout daily activities to continually monitor trees for pests, diseases and report to manager • Assist with maintenance of irrigation systems and weed control programmes; • Under direction assist with maintenance of orchard as required; • Support seasonal tasks under the direction of the Orchard Manager

Proven experience in an outdoor working environment or similar role; Strong organisational and time management skills with attention to detail; Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment Must have min restricted licence and reliable transport Must pass pre employment drug test Minor criminal convictions may be considered on a case by case basis and must be disclosed
