Kiwifruit Packhouse – Key Roles

We’re looking for people to get involved with our Kiwifruit Packing season starting in late Feb and ending in June. Looking for people to fill several key roles:
Area Team Leads- Taking care of your specific area, including machinery, and allocating and rotating staff to maximise productivity. You will need to ensure your area, including machinery, have the correct packaging and labels. You will need troubleshooting skills. You will communicate with the Shift Manager and work together with the other Team Leads.
EDI (Electronic Data Inventory)- Checking we have the correct clearance to pack our fruit; Entering data including grower details, fruit variety etc into the system; Making sure produce pallet cards etc are visual before transferring to the Coolstore; Ensuring full traceability of fruit is maintained using batch control systems. You will have an eye for detail, be able to problem solve and have good computer skills.
Fruit Label Operator- Operating Fruit Label Machinery to ensure correct variety and label type are applied. 90% of all fruit must be labelled. This job requires managing 3 label bank machines each with 8 label reels. Ensuring enough correct stock, recording accurate traceability data. You will be able to troubleshoot, work under pressure and have good time management skills.
Bin Tip Operator- Operating bin tip machinery to ensure the fruit matches the pack plan before it is tipped over machine and meeting the demands of production line. You will be accurate, methodical, able to work at pace and have troubleshooting skills.
Tray Maker- Operating the Tray making and Niverplast machines to produce boxes and trays feeding direct to the production line. Full training will be given in this role. You will be strong, fit, and able to work at pace.
Weights & Counts- Checking fruit counts and weights to ensure product specifications are met; Recording and reporting information. You will have an eye for detail and be able to work accurately.
Cleaner- Keeping the staff areas of our Packhouse clean and tidy; Making sure there is tea, coffee, and fresh water available for tea breaks; Heating staff meals for lunch breaks. You will be friendly and able to relate to all people as well as motivated to achieve a clean and tidy workplace.
Senior Online Tray Prep- Ensuring correct distribution of labour throughout the tray prep line; Maintaining H&S and food safety standards; Making sure product traceability is maintained; Ensuring stock is available for shifts. You will have experience in leading a small team, be able to trouble shoot and have a positive and energetic matter.
Quality Controller- Checking and monitoring fruit to ensure standards are being met; Recording and communicating data. You will have a strong attention to detail and be computer literate. All training will be provided to make you a specialist in one of these areas. Please indicate which role you prefer on your application.
