Kaimahi - Kohanga Reo

Are you passionate about shaping our future leaders through te reo Maori, tikanga and the kaupapa of Te Kohanga Reo? The successful applicant will be a competent and a creative planner, who will work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver Te Whariki a Te Kohanga Reo curriculum. We seek someone who is friendly, a great communicator and leader with a real commitment to quality early childhood education within Te Ao Maori. Digital literacy is essential to this role. A local kura based kohanga reo that is whanau led is looking for a Superstar Kaimahai (Fixed Term). You will provide support for our kaiako and kaiawhina and kairiwhi (relievers) that have direct contact with our tamariki mokopuna (aged 0- 6 years old). This role strengthens te reo Maori, tikanga and tuakiritanga (identity) into everyday practice.

Be a supportive team member who enjoys growth, change and driving continuous improvement. Have excellent, effective written and verbal communication skills. Be experienced and confident in programme planning, assessment, evaluation and reporting. Have an understanding of Te Korowai and its policies and procedures that guide our kohanga reo. Support in te reo speaking Maori environment that is underpinned by tikanga me nga matapono Maori! Support and uplift standards of Teaching, Learning and Development planning and innovative practices. Inspire and motivate mokopuna to excel, encouraging growth and collective success. Build strong relationships with tamariki mokopuna, whanau and hapu.
