Health Care Assistant

A privately owned 28 bedded rest home which provides rest home level care is looking for a Health Care Assistant to join their team.

The applicant will need to have the following attributes:

-Empathy and patience with the elderly. -Assisting Residents in the day-to-day activities of daily living. -Being aware of individual needs. -To deliver a high standard of care to Residents who have non-medical requirements. -To work at a steady, organized pace, ensure that the Residents feel involved in their home and their care. -Implementation of each Residents Care Plan. -You must be a team player working with a small staff team. -Excellent communication skills. -A strong and reliable work ethic. -Flexible and able to adapt to our Resident's constantly changing needs. -Medication Competent

Here is a summary of the shifts required at the aged care facility:

1. Afternoon Shift: 15:30 pm – 23:45 pm 2. Night Shift (Solo Shift): 23:45 pm – 07:15 am 3. Split Shift 1: 07:00 am – 10:00 am Then, 15:30 pm – 20:00 pm 4. Split Shift 2: 07:00 am – 12:30 pm Then, 16:00 pm – 18:00 pm

-Previous experience in the aged care sector for a minimum of 2 years OR at least 1 year with relevant qualifications. -Minimum Qualification NZQA Level 2 Certificate in Health and Well-Being -Flexibility to work any shifts per the roster, including split shifts and afternoon and night shifts (solo shift)
