Machine Operator

Opportunity is based in Tamahere- Cambridge operating our salad washing and vertical form fill & seal packaging machines - monitoring bagger operation and ensuring that operation is to maximum efficiencies - ensuring machines are set up correctly including changing packaging and settings as required (this includes lifting rolls of film up to 35kg) - Troubleshooting basic machine issues and breakdowns - Completing data entry into ERP system (Dynamics) to record consumptions - Completing daily checks on machinery - Completing quality checks to ensure product quality, weights, sealing and label printing meets production and quality requirements - Completing daily chemical clean and sanitisation of production and machines

- Previous experience operating machinery in a food production or manufacturing environment (preferred but not essential) - Mechanical or electrical aptitude or experience (qualification not required, but highly regarded) - Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices advantageous - Comfortable using computers for recording data and operating machine interfaces - Good communication and English - Strong problem-solving skills - Capable of troubleshooting and performing maintenance on machinery to keep it running smoothly - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow instructions - Flexibility to work additional hours, including early starts or weekends, if required - Good physical fitness to handle tasks such as lifting and standing for extended periods - Attention to Detail with the ability to spot product defects and maintain high quality standards
