Permanent Part Time Pool Lifeguard

An exciting opportunity to join the team at Mosgiel's Pool, Te Puna o Whakaehu.

As a lifeguard you will provide a positive experience for customers, supervise and control use of facilities, respond quickly and efficiently to emergencies, and work effectively as part of a team to ensure a safe environment at all times. As an individual you must be a confident swimmer, be customer and safety focused, positive, enjoy working with and for people, and remain composed through testing scenario’s.

The available shifts are permanent and can be applied for individually, or as a package, with preference given to candidates who can work multiple. Vacant shift is Sundays 6.45am-3.15pm with the opportunity to pick up additional shifts on a casual basis. Additional shifts may become available.

Successful candidate would commence paid training March 17-April 4, once training is completed and qualifications achieved assigned shifts will commence.

Must be a confident swimmer and meet swimming requirements including passing a pre-employment swim assessment. This includes swimming 200m in under 6 minutes, tread water for 5 minutes and dive 1.8m to retrieve an object. Must be customer service focused. Resilient and able to respond to emergencies quickly and efficiently. Return a satisfactory police vetting check, as prescribed in the Childrens Act. Must have reliable transport to work and to Moana Pool based training. Hold or be willing to obtain a Pool Lifeguard Certificate (PLPC) with employers support.
