The Principal Advisor takes on a crucial leadership, analytical, and advisory role within the Office, assisting the Director with the daily management of team activities, as well as the creation and upkeep of systems and processes that support the Office's operations.

Job Requirements
The successful candidate will need:
• Proven experience in senior advisory roles within large, complex organizations, including: • Providing strategic guidance to executive leadership teams to support informed decision-making. • Acting as a key influencer across diverse business units with distinct objectives but common organisational goals. • Ability to navigate ambiguity, work proactively, and thrive in environments with minimal supervision. • Experience supporting a Minister’s office or senior executives, or similar experience with governance boards. • Expertise in communicating complex issues to diverse audiences. • Leading and mentoring both advisory and administrative teams to achieve their best performance. • Familiarity with te ao Maori, and a solid understanding of te reo, tikanga, kawa, and matauranga Maori. • Tertiary degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience • Relevant industry or technical qualifications and/or certifications. • Skills and experience in planning, reporting and business improvement. • A highly developed ability to read, understand and interpret complex documents, including financial, numerical, and business information and turn this into compelling advice
