Youth Worker - Raetihi

We are establishing a team of two part time employed, Raetihi based Youth workers, who will be closely supported by two of our Whanganui based Youth workers who will come through weekly in 2025 to support the Raetihi team run their weekly club. The local team will follow this up with small group and 1on1 mentoring. Holiday programs and camps will be part of the rhythms.

Core objectives include: • Run programmes and mentor young people. This will be done through a range of large group, small group, and one-to-one activities. Activities include Weekly club programme. Home visits, 1on1 mentoring and advocacy, Holiday programmes and camps • Plan, organise, collect resources, and ensure the programmes are ready to run. • Collect and store all relevant data and complete reporting as required (enrolments, permissions, Hazards assessment, RAMS, record keeping) • Network with other services for the best outcome for rangatahi and whanau. • Ensure RAMS are prepared and adhered to as required. • Apply TOHATOHA, positive youth development principles and youth work Code of Ethics to this position.
