Surfacing Labourer/Machine Operator

A Motueka based roading construction company is looking for a Richmond based Surfacing Labourer and Machinery Operator. The key responsibilities include: • Provide hands on labouring support to the surfacing operations team in line with job requirements, to a high standard and in a safe manner • Operate trucks, graders, paving and sealing machinery etc to complete surfacing projects safely, to a high standard and in line with job requirements • Keep surfacing equipment in a safe, clean and good working condition and perform daily checks to ensure safe and effective operation. • Organise repair and maintenance on plant. • Complete job reports, prestart/health and safety checks and timesheets on a daily basis. • Be a supportive teammate - maintain regular lines of communication and pitch in to help for the greater good of the company. • Demonstrate a reliable, responsible and positive approach to colleagues, managers and customers • Backfill other roles in the team (e.g. to cover absence) as required to support the overall success of the business and customer care.

You will need the following to apply for this role: • 1+ years of construction, sealing and asphalt experience • Wheels Tracks and Rollers • Class 2 driving licence • Experience on a paver, asphalt roller, site preparation and concrete work • Able to run risk assessments and work independently running small jobs
