Te Whatu Ora is looking for Cadetship CSSD Technician. Technician - Central Sterile Sciences Department. About the role The Central Sterile Sciences department is a business critical service that provides decontamination and sterilisation services across Te Whatu Ora Waitemata (inpatient and community) as well as external customers. The position will require you to work on rotating shifts at both the North Shore and Waitakere hospital campuses, enabling you to learn all aspects of instrumentation used in patient care. Within this role you will be responsible for the collection, sorting, decontamination, inspection, testing and sterilisation of surgical and medical devices at the cutting edge of technology, ensuring all quality assurance and compliance are met. The tasks mentioned will involve some lifting. We will provide a fully comprehensive training programme, where you will have the opportunity to gain a nationally recognised qualification in Sterilising Technology. Job Requirements

We are looking for motivated and hard-working people with a positive attitude to join our team. To succeed in the role you will need: • An eye for detail • Ability to work 3pm - 11.30pm shifts, some weekend work and at times on a rotational basis. • Ability to work across sites at both North Shore Hospital and Waitakere Hospital • Good communication skills • To be a team player, reliable, hard working • To be quality focussed • Full training provided. • Permanent full time (80 hours per fortnight) positions available • Full clean Driver’s License • No convictions and pass drug test • Have current good referees. • Has CV, Cover Letter and 2 forms of ID
