Butcher's Assistant

An employer in Takanini is seeking x2 Butchers Assistants

Your duties will include; • Clean and maintain tools and equipment. • Standing for long periods • A wide range of manual handling, heavy lifting, and repetitive movements • Unload, unpack and store meat supplies. • Record quality of meat received and report any issues. • Follow instructions from butchers to cut, trim, bone, tie, and grind meats. • Wrap, weigh, label, and price cuts of meat. • Place meat cuts and products in display counter. • Assist butchers with placing orders and maintaining stock level • Complete any other related duties as required

• Must pass a drug test along with police vetting • Must be hard working and reliable • Can be rostered between 6am and 6pm, available to work on weekends and public holidays • Be comfortable with the smell of raw meat, handling raw meat, animal tissue and meat products • Physically fit for heavy liftings (uploading up to 5 pallets each day) • Able to work in cold conditions and can stand for extended periods • No health issue that prevents wearing safety gears (masks, aprons, gloves, shoes etc.) for extended periods • Able to work independently as well as in a team • Relevant experience is preferable but not essential (training is available) • Must have transport
