About this job
Support clients living in their homes, by delivering home management and personal care support as set out in the clients’ individual support plans.
Cadets will get their level 2 and level 3 Health and wellbeing qualifications over 2 years.
15 rostered hours between 7am-9pm, 7 days a week. As you are trained more you will be given more hours leading up to at least 30 hours per week
Range of clients who need support: • ACC • Disability • Aged Care • Medication oversee – not medication administering
Personal Care:
• Help with bathing client, hair care, transferring them to and from the shower/bath, un/dressing client. • Toilet assisting - urinary collection bags maintaining hygiene. • Assist safe mobility around the home. • Assist with eating. • Check that medication is being taken correctly. • Assist with transfer between bed and chair. • Help in the prevention of deteriorating health and enhance the client’s personal hygiene and general wellbeing. • Other responsibilities will be discussed once you have secured the role.
Home Management:
• Help with cleaning ensuring a high standard of cleanliness in the kitchen, bathroom, toilet, laundry assistance
Job Requirements
To be considered:
• Restricted driver licence • Reliable vehicle, registered & warranted (must use their own vehicle to travel between clients homes, travel is paid for). • Understanding of Tikanga Maori • Te Reo is not essential but is an advantage- basic knowledge of greetings etc. • Pass pre employment checks – Police vetting and working children vetting • Physically fit and able • Wanting a career as a support workers • 1 photo ID and 1 non photo ID
