Cleaner

A Lower Moutere orchard is looking for a conscientious, honest, self-managing person to clean and look after some aspects of housekeeping for our seasonal workers. This is a fixed term contract to September but could lead to a permanent role. This role could suit two people if they wish to job share

• This role involves cleaning and housekeeping tasks for a few accommodation blocks and various buildings such as the office, shed and toilet blocks spaced around the sites; most of the latter are quite basic • Most of the accommodation blocks are men only and the successful applicant must be confident and comfortable being alone, or working around occasional company of people living in these spaces. Examples of when workers may be around are rain days or ‘home’ sick • The successful applicant will formally report to one of the directors, but may have a day to day working relationship with the Orchard Pastoral Care Manager who looks after the wellbeing of the orchard workers • Cleaning is physical work; so requires the cleaner to be physically capable and for all day Days Typically, Mon to Friday however can, and may need to, include Saturdays if the time is needed to keep on top of tasks.

Hours of Work Flexible (within 8:00am – 4pm) working schedule to suit applicant can be agreed eg school hours but needs to be available to work longer if needed if needed to keep on top of tasks.

Estimated hours per week: January - 10-12 hours From February until End May - 15-20 hours per week From June - September 12-15 hours Potential to extend hours for gardening duties

• Experienced cleaners are sought, but training will be provided so inexperienced people may apply • Full driving licence required • Random drug testing can be conducted. We require people to not be under the influence of drugs nor alcohol
