New World Supermarket, Green Bay looking for a Butchery Apprentice that would like to join the Butchery team and work towards becoming a qualified butcher. If you are someone that has an interest in butchery, ready to give it a go to see if you can make a career out of it, or if you are someone that already has experience in butchery and wants to take their learning further to becoming a qualified butcher this could be the role for you!

The Role: • Support the butchers in preparing meat, traying up product, and replenishing the store.

• Ensure a high standard of quality and presentation through the department at all times of the day.

• Work towards becoming a qualified Butcher by working with two very experienced Butchers.

• Ensure Food Safety standards are maintained, through completion of appropriate cleaning, temperature checks and traceability forms.

• Ready to join a high performing team that focuses on providing great customer service.

Job Requirements

What are we looking for? • Be prepared to go into the Butchery Apprentice program.

• Early morning starts: Monday: 5:00am - 2.30pm Tuesday: 10:00am - 4:30pm Friday: 6:00am - 3:30pm Saturday: 6:00am - 3:30pm

• Someone that is hard working, reliable and passionate, about working in this industry.

• Someone that is great at following instructions, enjoy hands on learning.

• You need to be able to support butchers in preparing, packing, and replenishing all meat types (Beef, Chicken, Pork, Lamb, & Fish).

• Someone that is prepared to work in a refrigerated environment.

• Experience in butchery and knife skills is an advantage.

• A fantastic attitude, work ethic and passion for making a workplace great.

• Excellent verbal communication skills.

• Hold New Zealand Citizenship, Permanent Residency, or a valid New Zealand work permit.

• Full drivers’ licence.

• Pass a drug test.

• No criminal convictions.

• Pass a credit check.

Mon 5am - 2.30pm Tue 10am - 4:30pm Fri, Sat 6am - 3:30pm (33 hours per week)
