New World, Green Bay, looking for an experienced butcher. Are you looking for the next stage of your career development, to support the Butchery manager as a 2IC? • You will be responsible to support the Butchery manager in running the day to day of the department. This includes everything but not limited to cutting, packing, filling, cleaning, placing, and receiving orders.

• Be responsible of the Butchery department whilst the Manager is not there, including purchasing, pricing, rostering, food safety, and stock management.

• Maintain the highest standards of quality and presentation, ensuring all products are fresh and visually appealing.

• Engage with customers to understand and fulfil their needs.

• Identify and implement opportunities to improve productivity and efficiency.

• Ensure all products are correctly trayed, wrapped, and labelled in compliance with food safety standards.

• Lead, inspire, and support the small team we have.

• Drive department growth through effective commercial strategies and innovation.

• The successful candidate will have a positive and energetic approach, hands on with a commitment to getting the job done and want to be part of a high performing and customer driven team.

• Trade certificate in butchery or meat retail.

• Early morning starts: Tue: 6:00 am until 2.30 pm. Wed: 6:00 am until 2.30 pm. Thu: 6:00 am until 2.30 pm. Fri: 5.00 am until 2.30 pm. Sat: 5.00 am till 2.30 pm.

• Hold New Zealand Citizenship, Permanent Residency or a valid New Zealand work permit.

• A passion for butchery, with a keen eye for quality and presentation.

• SAP experience preferred but not essential.

• Strong adherence to Food Safety and Health & Safety protocols.

• Self-motivated, reliable, and a great team player.

• Proven customer service expertise.

• Full drivers’ licence.

• Pass a drug test.

• No criminal convictions.

• Pass a credit check.
