Dairy Farm Assistant - Lichfield

Are you passionate about dairy farming and looking for a rewarding opportunity? We are hiring a Dairy Farm Assistant to join our team and play a vital role in our farm operations. Key Responsibilities: • Assist with feed planning and management as required. • Manage weeds and pests effectively. • Apply fertiliser and implement irrigation requirements. • Oversee the milking process, ensuring plant hygiene and low somatic cell counts. • Operate and maintain the effluent system in compliance with regional council standards and employer expectations, keeping accurate records. • Implement animal health programs to maintain a healthy herd. • Assist with calving, wintering, and calf-rearing to ensure minimal losses and high-quality herd replacements. • Maintain accurate herd records and report any incidents of unwell animals. • Work closely with the Dairy Farm Manager to contribute to the Farm Business Plan. • Assist in managing the repair and maintenance schedule for all plant, machinery, and infrastructure.
