Carpenter

A Manurewa based construction company is seeking a Carpenter to join their team on a full-time permanent basis.

You will be required to pick up the company vehicle from the depot in Manurewa and drop it off at the end of each shift.

Duties include but are not limited to: • Installing beams and building the framework of residential new builds, including the walls, floors and roofs using wood or metal supports • Measuring, cutting and fitting door and window frames • Building and installing staircases if needed • Adding the outer parts of the building such as the siding, trim and roof details to complete the exterior • Taking out old walls, floors or other structures during a renovation • Changing walls, doors and windows to fit the new layout • Making and putting in custom cabinets and trims • Fixing damaged wood, replacing old floors or fixing windows and doors • Putting in or refinishing floors, adding shelves and other final details to finish the project

• 2-3 years’ experience as a Carpenter, candidates who have completed a building apprenticeship are welcome to apply • Hold a full Class 1 driver licence with a reliable transport, a company vehicle will be provided to travel to job sites • Physically fit and drug-free, minor convictions may be considered on a case-by-case basis • Fluent in both written and verbal English for effective communication with the team and clients
