Heavy Truck Driver - Class 4

A South Auckland based employer is looking for Heavy Truck Drivers - Class 4 to join their team. Candidates will need to have a full Class 4 driver license and ability to operate a manual road ranger gearbox. Key duties: -Carry out routine checks on their trucks every time they drive them. -Ensure that the vehicle is to be appropriately maintained and kept in a clean and tidy condition. -Weigh their truck before and after it is loaded, supervise or help with the loading of trucks, and check the condition of the load and that it is securely fastened. -Follow the correct safety procedures if goods being transported are dangerous and check all the documentation related to loads they are carrying. -Drive a truck to make deliveries or pick up goods and keep a log book of the hours you work. -Excellent driving skills, basic knowledge of the mechanics of the truck and how to maintain it, an understanding of the Road Code, defensive driving techniques and relevant transport laws. -Knowledge of emergency procedures and how to identify and handle hazardous road conditions and the ability to use satellite tracking equipment and on-board computers -The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the Auckland area.

Job Requirements
Candidates must be able to pass a police check and a drug test. Candidates will need to have a full Class 4 driver license and ability to operate a manual road ranger gearbox. Must be flexible with shift work.
