Join Our Team as a Carpenter!
Role Overview: We are looking for a skilled and experienced Carpenter to join our team in Canterbury. The successful candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in the construction industry and a strong work ethic. You will be responsible for a variety of carpentry tasks, including framing, roofing, floor installation, and other related construction duties. Travel to multiple job sites or different regions may be required, with accommodation and travel expenses covered by the employer. A minimum of 30 hours per week is guaranteed.
Key Responsibilities: Study drawings and specifications to determine materials required, dimensions, and installation procedures. Cut and assemble materials, ensuring precision and quality work. Erect framework and roof framing, lay sub-flooring and floorboards, and ensure structures are level and true. Nailing fascia panels, sheathing roofs, fitting exterior wall cladding, and installing door and window frames. Assemble prepared wood to form structures and fit them for installation. Construct and repair concrete formwork, when required. Work with various materials such as timber, plastic laminates, perspex, and metals. Layout, install, and finish flooring, roofing, and drywall with precision and minimal waste. Use necessary tools to cut and smooth lumber and other materials according to measurements. Ensure all work complies with safety standards and procedures. Maintain a clean, organized work environment, ensuring the job site is free from hazards. Support team members and collaborate effectively to complete projects on time.
Job Requirements
Pre-requisites: A minimum of 3 years of carpentry or construction experience. Ability to work in a team and follow directions. Strong trade skills and knowledge of construction techniques. Willingness to travel and work across different sites. Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area at all times.
MUST be able to pass Pre Employment Checks. Must have an understanding of Health and Safety. Have an eye for detail. Have a Safe Site Certificate. Be able to Read Blue Prints.
