The organisation is a family-owned service provider for in-home and community-based health and disability support. Our aim is to support people to live as independently as possible, for as long as possible and to maintain their independence regardless of age, injury, illness or disability.
We are looking for Community Support Workers who can work Monday to Friday and weekends is upon request only. Should be able to travel around Christchurch, North Canterbury and Selwyn. Working hours will be between 7am to 7pm.
About the Role: Our services are primarily delivered within Christchurch, with additional demand in Selwyn, Rakaia, and Amberly. To support clients effectively, you will need at least a Restricted Driver Licence and access to your own car, as travel between work locations is required.
As part of a team, you will assist our clients to live as independently as possible, within their homes and community. You will help our clients to achieve their goals and reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support.
Responsibilities can be varied, and you will follow a care plan, which may include some or all of the below: • Meal preparation • Community outings and integration • Shopping • Personal cares (showering,dressing, grooming, and toileting etc, as needed) • Home management
Job Requirements
- Attitude - a desire to help and support others, achieving excellence in all you do! - Previous healthcare or caregiving experience is desirable, although not essential - Ideally to hold at least a Level 2 New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing, a recognised equivalent qualification, or be willing to undertake study towards this qualification. - A valid First Aid Certificate is essential. - At least a Restricted Driver Licence and access to your own car are required and offer mileage reimbursement for the kilometers traveled in between the work locations. - Commitment to engage in and complete the organisation's training requirements. - Excellent communication skills, English speaking candidate would be preferred - Ability to pass drug testing and Ministry of Justice (MoJ) checks.
