We’re seeking a Reticulation Apprentice to work with our Water Unit team in Rangiora, North Canterbury. The role:
This role involves working on water and wastewater network and assets, installing, and upgrading new pipework where no two days are the same. You will learn to undertake operational checks, maintenance activities, pipework repairs and installations, and also contributing to improvement and upgrade works on the reticulation network.
About you:
We are looking for someone on their own learning journey who has a positive attitude, a desire to learn and develop your knowledge in a dynamic engineering industry. Interest in water infrastructure, construction, and maintenance is desired as is a friendly and cheerful demeanor as there will be times when you are interacting with members of the public. This is a role where you need to be physically fit with full mobility. You may be required to respond to callouts on a scheduled basis and be available for occasional weekend work once you are deemed capable.
You will be supported and mentored through the New Zealand Certificate in Infrastructure Works (Pipeline Construction and Maintenance) with strands in Drinking-Water, Wastewater and Stormwater, and Trenchless Technologies or New Zealand Certificate in Infrastructure Works Pipe Installations.

Job Requirements
In addition to your focus on safe working practices, you will need the following:
• NCEA level 1
• Class 1 Full Driver’s License is a minimum (Class 2, 4, W, T, R are desirable)
