Tamaki Makaurau Pacific Wardens Trust are looking for Pacific Wardens Coordinator role. Pacific Wardens are community safety volunteers who work in partnership with Police to keep their communities safe by providing a high visibility presence: in their local neighbourhoods; at local and regional community events; and in public areas where a need for a visible presence has been identified.
Job Requirements
Personal Specifications : • The ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team context, and the ability to work under pressure brought out for example by pressing deadlines. • Ability to build and manage effective relationships with others. • Experienced in developing teamwork and motivate volunteers. • Ability to relate well to people in a wide range of organisations, cultural and ethnic backgrounds. • Is respectful of Pasifika values including community and the diversity of each Pasifika ethnic group and spirituality. • Possesses ability to administer and coordinate standard administrative requirements. • Demonstrates planning and organisation skills. • Experience using computers for a variety of tasks. • Knowledge of file management and other administrative procedures. • Ability to speak a Pacific language is an advantage.
Qualifications Essential • At least 2 years’ proven working experience in a management or a coordination role, with specific skills in programme management and event management. • Experience and understanding in working with Pasifika people and communities. • Full driver’s license
Knowledge, Skills and Attributes: • Displays leadership skills in a wider team. • Ability to work with Pasifika communities and other community groups. • Displays good time management and people management skills. • Fosters learning and development in others through ensuring that Wardens receive regular training designed to enhance their skills and knowledge as individuals and as a group.
